If you are considering purchasing a truck camper, there are a couple disadvantages. You will need the correct type of truck to attach your RV camper to. And, these types of campers can be more difficult to store when not in use. In addition, because of the high profile of the truck campers, they may decrease fuel economy. They are also less stable in windy areas.

Another important feature to look for is "text-to-speech." Most voice-prompting GPS units will give an audio notification such as "Turn left in 300 feet" or "Take next exit." A unit with a text-to-speech function will speak not only the direction but the name of the street as well: "Turn left onto Mulberry Lane in 300 feet" or "Take Exit 23A." This is a huge help for many people, especially RV'ers, as they won't even have to glance at the screen to know where to go.

If you have spent time searching for a great deal on an RV, you're probably getting a little bit frustrated. RVs for sale by owner, classifieds, Craigslist, eBay, and other sources for RV's are simply not the cheapest place to find a deal anymore and you just don't know what you're getting sometimes.

Seized Auctions are probably the best place to find a great bargain on a your used motor home. There are thousands of vehicles seized by the government each month and they get auctioned off quickly and tend to sell at incredible prices. Most of the vehicles have low mileage and are hardly used being in excellent condition.

Finding a vintage travel trailer to buy can be as simple as picking up the phone, or as time consuming as you'd like it to be. Like the trailer styles themselves, your choices for shopping are as varied as your imagination and bank account allow them to be. Restore yourselves? Buy already restored? Buy somewhere in the middle? None of the above? With vintage travel trailers, the shopping choice is yours.

MICROWAVE: A small microwave oven can make preparing and re-heating many foods more convenient in a travel trailer or RV. A low-wattage microwave (such as 600 watts) will take somewhat longer to cook food, but is more likely to have its electrical needs met by a travel trailer. You will have to make sure your RV or trailer has the necessary outlets and electrical capabilities before purchasing one of these.

Remove most everything in the RV to winterize it. Anything that is liquid especially needs to be removed from the camper. This includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, decorations (like those collectible snowglobes), and any other liquids. Liquids expand when they freeze and can burst the containers, resulting in potential damage to the RV camper.

Ever find just what you're looking for in your local newspaper, but by the time you call, it's already gone? You can still find great deals on used recreational vehicles. You just have to think a little differently than most people.
